Starting a little slow, I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to finish Red Star Down, based entirely on the page count.
How wrong I was!
What followed was a tome with action upon action, secrets being unravelled in public, unlike most spy thrillers, during a recent and memorable time.
Red Star Down follows 3 main characters:
Jenna, a CIA member in the US, with some past secrets that aren't willing to stay buried.
Lyosha, a student in Moscow who challenges Vladmir Putin on live TV, and finds out why this is a bad idea pretty fast.
Eric, a spy for North Korea who is helping Donald Trump in his negotiations with Korea.
This book is absolutely full of intrigue, political commentary, and keeps forcing you to ask questions of yourself as you read on, holding a mirror to see what you'd do in stressful circumstances.
